Heather Glenn — EmpowerFIT Founder
Heather Glenn founded EmpowerFIT Boot Camp in 2011 to offer a fitness program that trains people physically so that they can fully experience the joys, and conquer the demands, of their daily lives. Her goal is to help people feel stronger physically and mentally, to believe in themselves, and to feel confident in every aspect of their life so that they can live freely with passion and purpose.
Heather Glenn has over 12 years experience operating and teaching outdoor boot camp classes. She co-created the original Bay Area Boot Camp program in 2004 and ran this successful program first under Bay Area Boot Camp (2004 — 2008) and then under AlaVie Fitness (2008 — 2011). In 2011, Heather founded EmpowerFIT and continued to serve people through her boot camp programs. She has been a certified personal trainer and fitness expert for over 14 years and has worked with and helped thousands of individuals achieve their fitness goals. With a background in business and two entrepreneurial parents, Heather is a business owner at heart. She enjoys the excitement that comes from creating products and services that change lives. “It’s fun to take your dreams and turn them into a reality. It’s also rewarding to take another person’s dreams and help make those a reality too. I get to do that every day and that makes me happy.”
In order to pursue her interest in functional nutrition and wellness, to support her expanding Beachbody coaching team, and to spend more time with her family, Heather sold EmpowerFIT to long time Coach and Business Manager, Kelly Scott in June of 2015. Heather is now focusing on growing her fitness and wellness coaching business as well as helping other fitness professionals, fitness enthusiasts and stay at home moms to start and build their own 6 figure businesses so that they can enjoy more time and financial freedom.

Other Information About Heather
Growing up as a competitive gymnast, dancer and cheerleader, Heather’s physical training was performance based in nature. “After college, I found it hard to stay motivated to exercise so I started training for various fitness events. It started with running races and marathons and then transformed into fitness competitions with military obstacle courses and figure pageants. I liked participating in the fitness competitions the most because I really enjoyed that style of training. It was a great combination of strength, speed and agility exercises and my body transformed doing these activities.” Heather was a nationally ranked fitness and figure competitor and is most proud of her sub 1 minute time on the Women’s Tri-Fitness Obstacle Course.
Prior to 2007, Heather’s training goals were mostly performance and physique based in nature. Then, after becoming a mom in 2006, losing her own mother to cancer in 2007 and dealing with the stress of running a business, fitness took on a whole new meaning for Heather. Fitness became more about having fun, connecting with others, keeping healthy and reducing stress. “If I didn’t have fitness, I’m not sure how I would have made it through those difficult times.”
“It has been challenging to find time for my own fitness given the demands of my multiple businesses and being a mother of two young boys but it’s taught me how to be more creative and resourceful in meeting my own fitness goals.”
The most rewarding part of Heather’s job: affecting people’s lives in a positive way and noticing their self-confidence and life value increase. “When people are fit, they feel better. When they’re in good shape and feel secure, everything is easy. I want people to walk out the door and feel in control, feel strong, and carry that confidence into their lives. Knowing your body is healthy makes you feel like you can accomplish anything.”
